Gardevoir joins Pokémon UNITE on July 28th

The official Pokémon UNITE Twitter account has announced that Gardevoir will be joining Pokémon unite as a Ranged Attacker this Wednesday, July 28th. As of writing no further details have been provided about how players will be able to unlock them, or how much in-game currency that might require.

Pokémon takes over Harrod's of London for 25th Anniversary celebration

From July 27th, for a period of one month, Pokémon will be taking over the toy section on the 4th floor of the historic Harrod's department store in Knightsbridge, London, as part of the ongoing celebration of the Pokémon franchise's 25th anniversary. Harrod's will be exhibiting as part of the takeover special displays of each of the starter Pokémon from every generation of the game to date.

First Impressions: Pokémon UNITE - Fabulously frenetic

If you haven’t been following much (or really, any) Pokémon news of late, Pokémon UNITE is a new Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game brought to us by Tencent, currently available on Switch and, come September, iOS and Android devices - crucially, it’s also free to download and play.

The nature of a Free to Play (FtP) game, with constantly evolving features and varying levels of content depending on what you’re prepared to pay, makes it difficult to provide a conventional, comprehensive review of Pokémon UNITE, so instead we’re going to share our first impressions on the title. Later down the line we’ll be checking in to see how the health of the game is holding up, how well new content has been received and whether or not the balance between free and paid content feels egregious - many FtP games have boasted a strong start, only to be later hobbled by irritating economies.

Vaporeon appointed as official ambassador for Water Day in Japan

This time, it's Vaporeon's turn to join the cast of Pokémon mascots, after they were named the official ambassador for Water Day by the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon UNITE to launch on July 21, 2021; Zeraora as an early bonus

The Pokémon Company International and TiMi Studio Group have announced that Pokémon UNITE will release on July 21, 2021, for Nintendo Switch systems. Pokémon UNITE will be free-to-start, with optional in-game purchases available. To celebrate launch and as an early download bonus, players who log in to the Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon UNITE by August 31, 2021 at 14:59 PM UTC, will be able to claim a Unite license for Zeraora using the in-game mail system.

Pokémon that inspire the games' curry Taste Ratings to appear in Max Raid Battles in Pokémon Sword and Shield

Pokémon Dens will be occupied by Pokémon that inspired the games' curry Taste Ratings in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield through to 4:59 p.m. PDT on July 11, 2021. Koffing, Wobbuffet, Milcery, Gigantamax Charizard, and Gigantamax Copperajah will all be appearing more frequently in Max Raid Battles. Very rarely, you may also encounter a Shiny Gigantamax Copperajah. If you managed to defeat a Pokémon in a Max Raid Battle during this event, you'll receive Bach's Food Tin in Pokémon Sword or Bob's Food Tin in Pokémon Shield. They are rare ingredients that can be used to prepare curry at your Pokémon Camp to help you complete your Curry Dex.
