Project VOLTAGE High ↑, the continuation to the art and music collaboration between Pokémon and the popular Volcaloid character Hatsune Miku, has posted its seventh song, 「クロスロード」 “Crossroad”, by vocaloid producers kz and TAKU INOUE, on Monday, March 9th, at 6:39pm (JST).

The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the White House has shared a meme making use of the Pokémon Pokopia logo, to the chagrin of The Pokémon Company International (TPCi). The Tweet features Donald Trump’s infamous mantra, Make America Great Again, in the Pokopia title font. TPCi has responded with a statement firmly disassociating itself from the controversial administration. Sravanthi Dev, spokesperson for TPCi, said: We are aware of recent social content that includes imagery associated with our brand. We were not involved in its creation or distribution, and no permission was granted for the use of our intellectual property. Our mission is to bring the world together, and that mission is not affiliated with any political viewpoint or agenda. TPCi has previously had to distance itself from the Trump White House, when in September of last year the official Department of Homeland Security (DHS) X account posted a video with the “Gotta Catch ‘Em All” tagline...

Lots of new merchandise has been released in the lead up to the Pokémon franchise’s 30th anniversary, and this week saw even more announcements and debuts of Pokémon-themed goods. Frequent Pokémon partner Uniqlo is offering customizable Pokopia t-shirts at their locations in Japan, while Puma, another continuing collaborator, has announced their new Pikachu sneakers. Plus, Pokémon Centers worldwide have added plenty of plushes of Ditto posing as other Pokémon, available online now.

Updates posted today on the Pokémon Trading Card Game's official Japanese homepage and YouTube channel have given fans their first look at all remaining regular print versions of cards from the upcoming Ninja Spinner expansion that hits store shelves in Japan on March 13th.

Pokémon Pokopia released for the Nintendo Switch 2 on March 5th, and is already introducing new content to the game, with the confirmation of multiple limited time special events to be held in the game. The first of these, “More Spores for Hoppip” (Japanese: 「ハネッコのわたげあつめ」 Hoppip Fluff Collecting) will be held from Monday, March 9th at 1:00pm (PDT) / 8:00pm (UTC) to Tuesday, March 24th at 12:59pm (PDT) / 7:59pm (UTC).

The release date for Moltres, the next Pokémon to join the fray in Pokémon UNITE has been announced — It will be available to play from March 13th. Moltres is a Melee All-Rounder that does Special damage, with Intermediate difficulty. At the time of writing, no further details on its moveset have been officially announced.

Pokémon UNITE's latest update “Long-Range Tactics” was released on March 5th at 7am UTC and brings balance adjustments for various Pokémon, alongside the usual bug fixes, and Shop and Event updates. Specifically, this update provides buffs (⇧) for Latios, Garchomp, Cinderace, Sirfetch'd, Cramorant, Greninja, and Gardevoir; while bringing nerfs (⇩) for Mega Gyarados, Gyarados, Mega Charizard Y, Blastoise, Mimikyu, Mewtwo (Y), Dhelmise, and Scizor.

Curious players have managed to expose a new bug in the original Generation III games on the Game Boy Advance that was unknown up until this point. This newly identified bug happens when a Roaming Pokémon faints at the same time the player whites out, such as by defeating them with Explosion with only one conscious Pokémon. So what happens if you do this? The Pokémon will remain roaming, but at 0HP.

LEGO Pokémon: Long have I awaited this day. LEGO first teased an upcoming collaboration with Pokémon back in March 2025, and now the first wave of sets have hit store shelves. As a fan of Pokémon, and Bulbagarden staff’s resident Lego Maniac, I have been waiting for this day for decades.

This was a good episode! Roy finally achieved his goal, making him one of the few main characters in the anime to be able to accomplish something they set out to do. All I can say is that I’m proud of him.

The Pokémon Company announced a new music player during its Pokémon Presents today which is designed to look like the original Game Boy. The system will play songs and sounds from Pokémon Red and Blue using 45 different cartridges. Also inspired by Red and Blue, Pokémon Centers worldwide are offering TCG accessories and apparel based on the games’ opening sequence, available online now.

The Pokémon Presents preview of Pokémon Pokopia has revealed some new details about the game, including some new characters and lots of new multiplayer functionality. Pokémon Pokopia is scheduled to release exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2, worldwide on March 5th.

As announced earlier during the Pokémon Presents presentation for Pokémon Day, a range of scouts, events and bonuses are launching in Pokémon Masters EX to celebrate the game's 6.5 year anniversary. The monthly message from the game's producer has also dropped, providing more detail on the three EX Master Sync Pairs that will be making their debut as part of these anniversary celebrations.

The big ticket item for this Pokémon Presents was the highly anticipated Generation X announcement, which came as the finale of the 25-minute video. Pokémon Winds and Waves Versions will be released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2, debuting simultaneously worldwide sometime in 2027.
