Just in time for the first anniversary of Pokémon Sleep, The Pokémon Company has launched two new themes for the LINE social messaging app. The Pokémon Sleep: Good Morning and Pokémon Sleep: Good Night themes can be purchased in the LINE shop for ¥370 or 150 LINE Coins in Japan, or in other countries at the local currency equivalent of the USD$2.99 price tier.

Pokémon Sleep celebrates its First Anniversary today with a free in-game bonus gift for all players

New information about Pokémon Sleep will be announced every day this week, alongside the first half of the First Anniversary Fest event. Today, the game has commemorated its first birthday with the announcement of a special gift to be distributed to all players who log-in to the game from Saturday July 20th at 3:00am (UTC), which marks exactly one year since the game's global release. Between the release of the game last year and May 29th this year, Sleep Researchers clocked up roughly 440,000 years, or around 3.9 billion hours worth of total sleep time tracked. With the extra month and a half of Sleep Research between when that was tracked and today, that means Sleep Researchers should by now have completed half a million years worth of sleep research.

Team Magma's Red Hot Rage returns to Pokémon Masters EX for a 4th run, plus new Double Feature Poké Fair Scout featuring Sygna Suit Steven & Brendan

After being re-run twice during 2023, the Team Magma's Red-Hot Rage Villain Event is making yet another return this week to Pokémon Masters EX. This event originally ran as part of the Hoenn chapter of the Villain arc between July 29th and August 28th, 2022. Fair-exclusive Sync Pairs for Sygna Suit Steven and Sygna Suit Brendan will also be making their own returns in a Double Feature Poké Fair Scout.

Pokémon UNITE updates to v1.15.1.2, sheds light on 3rd Anniversary Events beginning July 19th — use code BALANCE0716 to receive free rental licenses

Pokémon UNITE updated to Version 1.15.1.2 on July 16th. These updates, dubbed "Shadow Flame" (Japanese: 「シャドウフレイム」), bring balance adjustments for a variety of Pokémon alongside bug fixes and Shop and Event updates. The patch notes and in-game data also reveal information about the upcoming 3rd Anniversary events, which begin July 19th. The announcements include teasing the moves of the next Pokémon to join the fray — Ho-Oh, the return of the Panic Parade game mode, various commemorative events, new regulations for Ranked Match Series 21, and more. Additionally, a new gift code has also been released, enabling players to obtain rental licenses for Charizard, Ceruledge, Chandelure, and Gyarados.

An Any% race of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be held at this week's Australian Speedrun Marathon, commencing Wednesday @ 7:20pm (ACST)

The Australian speedrunning community will be coming together for the 2024 edition of the Australian Speedrun Marathon (ASM) event, which is being held live out of the Adelaide Rockford Hotel between July 16th and 21st. Among the runs in the event will be an Any% race of both Generation III remake games, pitting Omega Ruby against Alpha Sapphire. The event can be watched from the AusSpeeruns Twitch channel.

Crocs reveals four new Pokémon-themed shoe designs coming in 2024

The American footwear brand Crocs is expanding their collaboration with the Pokémon brand this year, previewing four new Gen I designs coming sometime in 2024, though no specific date has been given. Following the Pikachu design from earlier this year, Jigglypuff, Charizard, Gengar, and Snorlax will each feature on Crocs’ Classic Clog, with the Pokémon’s colors in a swirled design on the upper and a monochrome sole.

From July 27th onwards, the Pokémon Center official storefront in Japan will offer seven new plush toys as part of their 'Comfy Cuddlers' line. The Comfy Cuddlers collection debuted in July of 2022 in Japan, and consists of mini 'pocket plushes'—versatile toys than can serve as side-by-side collection displayables, desk toys, or as the name suggests, cuddling. Each Comfy Cuddlers plush is hand-washable, and features a soft, easy-to-clean design.

New plushies for Pokémon Sleep coming to Pokémon Centers in Japan, plus Fuecoco arrives as Build-A-Bear's newest bundle

Pokémon Centers in Japan are adding some new sleepy plushes to their lineup inspired by the first anniversary of Pokémon Sleep. The app’s mascot Snorlax will feature as a plushie with Pikachu asleep on its belly for ¥6,930 ($43.90 USD), and the sleeping Gengar, Eevee, and Larvitar plushies come in at ¥3,520 ($22.30 USD) each. These four will be available at Pokémon Centers across Japan beginning July 20th, and at the Pokémon Center Online beginning July 18th.
