New merchandise featuring Oshawott and promoting Shima Spain Village theme park to be released as part of Pokémon Local Acts program in Mie Prefecture

As part of a continuing collaboration with Mie Prefecture in Japan for the Pokémon Local Acts program, a range of merchandise featuring Oshawott, the official Ambassador Pokémon for the prefecture, is being released as part of a promotion centered around the Shima Spain Village theme park.

The Ambassador Pokémon promotion is sponsored by Pokémon Local Acts, a program designed to drive tourism by “highlighting well-known and not so well-known charms,” of various localities in Japan through events and activities. Pokémon Local Acts may be best known for the “Poké Lids,” which are utility hole covers with Pokémon designs, often including the region’s Ambassador Pokémon, which are located all throughout the country. Earlier this year, Mie prefecture installed six new Poké Lids featuring the Sea Otter Pokémon for Oshawott day on March 10th.

The new merchandise being released includes items such as clear files, badges, stickers, acrylic stands and t-shirts, which available at the following prices:
  • Clear files: ¥440 each (~$2.83 USD)
  • Acrylic stands: ¥880 each (~$5.66 USD)
  • Stickers: ¥330 each (~$2.12 USD)
  • Badges: ¥440 each (~$2.83 USD)
  • T-Shirts: ¥3,080 to ¥3,850 each, varies according to model (~$19.83 to $24.78 USD)
These goods will be available for purchase starting July 27th from the Mie Terrace in Shima Spain Village, from Mie Terrace in Nihonbashi in Tokyo, and from other major retailers in Mie Prefecture.

An announcement with additional details about the products and the retailers they will be available from is available (in Japanese) on the official Pokémon website.
