Worlds 2024 Pikachu promo cards to be distributed with purchase from August 2nd-18th, and at Pokémon League events from August 12th-18th

The official Pokémon website has announced that a special Pikachu promotional card for the Pokémon Trading Card Game will be distributed starting early next month, to commemorate the 2024 Pokémon World Championships. The cards, which feature a Pikachu battling a Mew, are illustrated by Atsushi Furusawa, who was a semi-finalist in the Pokémon Card Game Illustration Grand Prix, and has since illustrated more than 40 cards for the game.

These promo cards will be available as a gift-with-purchase from the Pokémon Center online store, and at select physical and online retailers, between August 2nd and 18th while stocks last. While no formal announcement has been made of which countries the promo will be available in, based on the involvement of the Pokémon Center store we would expect that in addition to the United States, the cards may also be available from Pokémon Center in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. Physical retailers such as GameStop and EB Games in these countries may also end up having these cards available, though based on past distributions in Australia, there is no guarantee those distributions would match to the same August 2nd to 18th period as in the United States.

In addition to the retail distribution, these promo cards will also be distributed as a participation prize in Worlds Celebrations at select local Pokémon League events between August 12th and 18th. Please note that this promo will not necessarily be available at all leagues, or at all events held within this time period.

Finally, the top 100 in this year's 2024 Worlds Fantasy Team contest in both the TCG and VGC categories will receive this card alongside other prizes including a Scarlet & Violet—Stellar Crown Booster Display Box. Further details for that contest will be released closer to the start of the registration period on August 1st.
