Catch up on all the details released for Pokémon GO's upcoming City Safari: Jakarta event, running September 21st and 22nd

This week, Niantic announced details on a new Pokémon GO City Safari event for Jakarta, Indonesia, which continues the run of Pikachu's Indonesia Journey events in collaboration with Pokémon Air Adventures. This ticketed in-person event will run over the weekend of September 21st and 22nd, featuring encounters with both location-themed wild Pokémon and Pokémon themed around the Pokémon Air Adventures, along with event-exclusive Research.

Ticket Information
Tickets for the event are available for purchase for 125,000 IDR (or the equivalent pricing tier in Trainer's local currency), and will entitle Trainers to access one day of the two-day event. Trainers looking to enjoy two days of gameplay will need to purchase an Extra Day Add-On (see below).

Trainers can purchase their tickets for the in-person events via the official site, or in-app following the following steps

• Open the Pokémon GO app.
• In Map View, tap the Main Menu button.
• Tap Events.
• On the following page, all upcoming live events will be listed, with the soonest event at the top.
• Trainers will see the label "Tickets Available!" next to a first-come first-served event if it hasn’t sold out yet. Tap the event to select the date and time, and input the payment information to complete the purchase. On the payment confirmation page, please note of the order ID. A confirmation email will be sent to the address entered before payment.

Tickets for the in-person events can also be gifted to a friend, following the below process

1. The friends' username will be required. While purchasing, there are boxes that can be filled in with the usernames of the friends—one name per box.
2. Tap "Add." Make sure that the spelling of all usernames is correct.
3. The ticket will be sent. (Note: Trainers need to be at least Great Friends with the friend. All friends will receive tickets for the same date and time.

Ticket add-ons
Trainers may purchase additional add-ons for their ticket for this in-person event. Trainers need not purchase the add-ons with the initial order of the access ticket, and can instead purchase the add-on at a later time. Add-ons are active throughout the event for ticket holders, even on the day they aren't taking part in ticketed gameplay

The add-ons available, their prices, and their associated bonuses, are as follows:

• Raid Lover (70,000 IDR)
  • Up to 12 free Raid Passes per day by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms
  • 5,000 additional XP awarded for completed raids
  • 3 additional Candy for catching Pokémon in 5-star and Mega Raids
  • 1 additional Candy XL for catching Pokémon in 5-star and Mega Raids (Trainers level 31+)
• Egg-thusiast (70,000 IDR)
  • 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance
  • 2× Hatch Stardust
  • 2× Hatch XP
  • 2× Hatch Candy
• Extra Day Add-On (100,000 IDR)
  • An increased chance of encountering Shiny Pokémon
  • Up to five Special Trades daily within the city
  • 1/2 Stardust Cost for trades within the city
  • Lure Modules (excluding Golden Lures) activated during the event will last for four hours

Event bonuses and activities
The following event bonuses will be active for ticket holders between 10:00am and 6:00pm anywhere in Jakarta on their ticketed day:

• An increased chance of encountering Shiny Pokémon
• Lure Modules (excluding Golden Lures) activated during the event will last for four hours
• Up to five Special Trades can be made during the day of the ticket purchased (anywhere in Jakarta)
• Trades will require 50% less Stardust
• Buddy Pokémon may find an exclusive Tiny Compass or Paper Airplane souvenir

New Stickers and Location Backgrounds
During the event, all Trainers in Jakata, including nonticket holders, will be able to receive event-exclusive stickers by stickers by spinning PokéStops, and opening Gifts.

Additionally, ticket holders in Jakata who take on Mega Raids during their ticketed day(s) will have a chance to receive a Jakarta Location Background after catching Latias or Latios

City Safari Special Research

Ticket-holding Trainers will receive a Special Research where they will assist Professor Willow in learning more about the Pokémon appearing during the event, encountering an Eevee wearing an explorer hat at the beginning of the City Safari Special Research.

This event-exclusive Eevee can be evolved into any of Eevee’s known Evolutions: Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, or Sylveon wearing an explorer hat using 25 Eevee candy. Though not required, Trainers have been explicitly encouraged by Niantic to set their new Eevee as their buddy Pokémon for this event.

Trainers will only receive the event Special Research once.

Free Timed and Field Research
Free Eevee Explorers Expedition Timed Research will be available as part of this event, in which Trainers can receive up to 8 additional encounters of Eevee wearing an explorer hat. These caught Eevee will have a Jakarta Location Background based around each location visited.

As part of expoloring Jakata, Niantic has suggested Trainers to visit the following locations while participating in this event:

• Pantai Indah Kapuk
• Kawasan Kota Tua Jakarta
• Central Park Mall
• Lapangan Banteng
• Tebet Eco Park
• Gelora Bung Karno
• Pantai Ancol

These locations can be viewed via the interactive event map in Campfire. Players will also be able to explore several official routes around Jakarta during the event.

Event-exclusive Field Research will also be available.

In-Person Activities and Events
As with past City Safari events, this latest event will feature in-person activities and events in Jakarta. Admission is free for these events, and does not require a ticket for the event.

PIK Avenue
Trainers can enjoy the following activities at PIK Avenue:

• Pokémon TCG Academia - Learn to play the Pokémon TCG
• Pokémon Meet-and-Greet - Meet and take photos with Pikachu and others
• Pikachu Parade - Parade performance by Pikachu and Eevee
• Pikachu Dance Show - A mesmerizing dance performance by Pikachu
• Pokémon Anime Viewing Stage Show - Watch the Pokémon animated series together

Community Park PIK2
Trainers can enjoy the following activities at two outdoor event zones at Community Park PIK2 between 2:00pm and 9:00pm(WIB)

  • Special live show with Pikachu and special artists - Collaboration with Pikachu and Indonesian local artists
  • Pikachu Night Drone Show - 1,600 drones and Pikachu will color the night in Jakarta
  • Pikachu EDM - A Pikachu’s sound and light dance show

  • Pokémon Meet-and-Greet - Meet Pikachu wearing a batik shirt
  • Various Pokémon Photo Spots - Take a photo with a special Pokémon photo spot

Exclusive City Safari merchandise - Jakarta Postcard
Trainers can pick up a physical postcard as a memento of the event at PIK Avenue or Community Park PIK 2. There will be a limited number distributed at each location. Postcards will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Special Transportation Discounts
Been September 16th to 22nd, Trainers can receive up to a 90% discount for GrabRide and GrabCar for transportation to and from City Safari Jakarta venues. To redeem this promotion, Trainers will need to interact with any of the special Grab PokéStops around Jakarta and tap the promotional image. In the Grab app, enter “POKEMONGO” for valid venues. Valid venues for this promotion include:
