Users report bugs, delays following launch of Worlds 2024 Pokémon Center Pop Up Store reservations

July 10th marked the start of reservations for the 2024 Worlds Pokémon Center Pop Up Store this August 14th to 18th in Honolulu, Hawaii. The announcement was made via Play Pokemon's social media channels, where they shared that those who register may have "the opportunity to purchase exclusive merchandise" at the 2024 Pokémon World Championships, which will kick off on August 16th and end on August 18th. However upon the website's release, many users reported that they were unable to register, or that they had to continually refresh the page in order to secure a reservation.

One X user shared that they could not get past the time selection phase, while others needed to refresh multiple times before being able to book. Some users have even reported that they did not get a confirmation email despite successfully booking on the website. Initial wait times to proceed with the booking reportedly took up to 45 minutes. Many users opted for workarounds by changing devices, or opening in new browsers in order to book. It is estimated that it took around four to five hours after launch for the website to successfully work again.

No walk-ins will be allowed during the duration of the pop up store, although no event badge for Worlds is needed to book a slot. Interested fans can only book one reservation time per day. FedEx Shipping kiosks will also be available for shoppers who wish to directly ship their purchases to their home addresses.

The pop up store will be open during the following days, all local time:
  • Wednesday, August 14th: 1pm–8pm
  • Thursday, August 15th: 9 am–8pm
  • Friday, August 16th: 9am–8pm
  • Saturday, August 17th: 9am–8pm
  • Sunday, August 18th: 9am–4pm
Full details on how to reserve a slot at the pop up store can be found here.
