Pokémon Center Australia and New Zealand, which soft launched at the end of last month, has now officially opened with its full product range

Following the soft-launch on May 31st, the popular Pokémon Center Online Store has now received its official opening for Pokémon fans in Australia and New Zealand.

The Pokémon Center Online store stocks a wide variety of Pokémon merchandise, including both the same goods that would be found at other retailers, as well as a variety of exclusive items such as plush toys from Japan, collectables, and homewares. Many items are available for a limited time only, as part of seasonal and themed collections released at different times of the year. As of this full opening, a much wider array of items are now available for purchase, with a roughly comparable catalogue to Pokémon Center in the United States.

Sadly however, there has been no change between the soft launch and the full opening on shipping costs or timeframes, and the shipping policy information implies that these items continue to be sent from the United States rather than from a local Nintendo of Australia warehouse, as many local fans had hoped. While Aussie and Kiwi fans will be used to paying the "Down Under Tax" on their Pokémon merch, it is somewhat disappointing that no efforts appear to have been made to lessen this burden on fans before the full open.
