A cluster of near-simultaneous posts to the official accounts of Netflix, The Pokémon Company, and The Pokémon Company International on X (formerly known as Twitter) have confirmed that new episodes of Pokémon Concierge are currently in production. No details have been given yet as to when we can expect these episodes to be released, though given the time involved in
stop-motion animation, it may be a while before these episodes actually grace our screens.
Pokémon Concierge is produced by
dwarf studios as a collaborative production between
Netflix and
The Pokémon Company. The first batch of four episodes was released worldwide on Netflix on December 28th, 2023. The series features a concierge at the
Pokémon Resort,
Haru, and her interactions with Pokémon and their
Trainers visiting the resort as guests.
Series director Iku Ogawa gave a brief statement to
Variety regarding the new episodes:
Iku Ogawa said:
"I am happy to let you know that we are now working on the new episodes for 'Pokémon Concierge'! Life at the Pokémon Resort continues. Please look forward to it! Let’s see which Pokémon will come visit as a guest this time!"
Though no explicit information has been given as yet about the plot of the new episodes, series producer Hidenaga Katakami had previously indicated to
Variety that:
Hidenaga Katakami said:
"Because it’s on an island and we are near water, there are a lot of water-type Pokémon that appeared. In the future, maybe we’ll have some more water-type Pokémon, but at the same time, maybe it’ll be interesting if you do the opposite. For example, electric-type Pokémon are not really good near water, but maybe it’s interesting if you bring them to a water-rich environment and see how they react."
