New Paldean plushies and Paradox Pokémon merch coming to Pokémon Centers in Japan

The Pokémon Center has announced their latest additions for May, with lots in store for fans of the Paradox Pokémon new to Scarlet and Violet. Three Paradox Pokémon plushies, Scream Tail, Flutter Mane, and Slither Wing, as well as the Legendary Chien-Pao will be arriving to Pokémon Centers in Japan on May 18th, with preorders at the Pokémon Center Online beginning May 16th. Scream Tail and Flutter Mane will be available for ¥2,970 ($19.06 USD), Slither Wing for ¥4,400 ($28.24 USD), and Chien-Pao for ¥3,520 ($22.60 USD). All four plushies will also be available via Amazon Japan in limited quantities beginning May 25th.

Pokémon Sleep to receive maintenance on May 14th ahead of Version 1.7.2 update, with minor QoL and balance changes ahead of the Entei Research Event

Pokémon Sleep will enter a maintenance period early next week on Tuesday May 14th, ahead of a planned update of the software to Version 1.7.2. This maintenance period is expected to go for roughly 4 and a half hours, from 1:00am until 5:30am (UTC). The update includes additional perks for Novice Researchers, and a selection of Balance adjustments for helper Pokémon, in addition to preparing the game for the Entei Research event later in the month.

Pokémon Sleep's next Good Sleep Day event will begin during the 1st week of Entei Research on May 22nd, with a ×2 Drowsy Power modifier on May 23rd

Pokémon Sleep's next Good Sleep Day event will run from Wednesday May 22nd through to Friday May 24th, during the first week of the Entei Research event. Good Sleep Day events are being held in Pokémon Sleep once every lunar month, starting the day before the full moon, and ending the day after. As usual, a Good Sleep Day Bundle will be available from the in-game shop alongside this event.

Pokémon X ColourPop Cosmetics collab arriving May 9th to include lip products, eyeshadow, and more inspired by Gen I

ColourPop, the cosmetics brand perhaps most famous for their various collaborations with beloved IPs like the Twilight movies and Sailor Moon, has announced their latest makeup collection inspired by Pokémon. The collection is currently not revealed in its entirety, but ColourPop has teased several lip glosses, blushes and a large eyeshadow palette featuring Pokémon-themed shades and packaging. The collection will be available via ColourPop’s website, shipping worldwide, beginning May 9th at 10 AM PDT, and at Ulta Beauty stores beginning May 12th.

Celebrate the addition of Latin American Spanish support to Pokémon GO with the A New LATAM Adventure event, running through until June 15th

Niantic and The Pokémon Company announced support for Latin American Spanish in Pokémon GO in a keynote speech at CCXP in Mexico City over this past weekend on May 5th. To commemorate this update, a special event entitled A New LATAM Adventure is currently running in-game until June 15th, at 8:00pm local time. This event is only available for Trainers physically present in in Latin America.

Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa announces Switch successor, reveal to occur before March 2025 — Nintendo Direct also announced for June.

Shuntaro Furukawa, the current President of Nintendo, has announced in a post on the official @NintendoCoLtd account on X (formerly Twitter) that a successor to the Nintendo Switch will be revealed within the Japanese fiscal year, meaning the new console will be officially unveiled sometime before March 2025. There have long been rumors and speculation about the so-called Switch 2, but this is the first official word from Nintendo of the new console. No other information has been given about the new console as of the time of writing.

Catch Primarina in 7-star Black Crystal Tera Raid Battles in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet starting May 10th (UTC) / 9th (PDT)

The next past generation first partner evolution to appear in special Tera Raids in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet will be the Soloist Pokémon Primarina, who will be making its first appearance in 7-star Black Crystal Tera Raid Battles between May 10th 5th at Midnight (UTC), and May 12th at 11:59pm (UTC), with a follow-up appearance one week later from May 17th at Midnight (UTC), and May 19th at 11:59pm (UTC). Blissey will also be appearing more frequently in 5-star Tera Raid Battles during the second week of this event.

The A Golden Future Story Event that originally ran for Pokémon Masters EX's 40 million download celebration is receiving its second re-run today for the final day of the Japanese Golden Week holiday. Sygna Suit Morty & Ho-oh, who first made their debut alongside the original run of this Story Event, are also making a return in a new Poké Fair Scout. Both the event and scout will be available until May 19th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

Today's Champions League stream gives first look at cards from Night Wanderer, the next subset for the Pokémon Trading Card Game in Japan

The next Pokémon Trading Card Game subset for Japan was revealed during today's Pokémon Champion's League stream. The Night Wanderer subset will be released in Japan on Friday June 7th. Today's stream has also given fans their first look at a selection of cards from this set, including Pokémon ex cards for each of the Loyal Three originally introduced in The Teal Mask expansion for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, as well as Neutral Center, the game's first Ace Spec Stadium card.
