Black Belt's Training Supporter and Special Battle Set promos revealed for the upcoming Pokémon TCG Generations Start Decks in Japan

The latest video posted on the official Japanese Pokémon Card Channel has revealed nine variations of a new Supporter card, Black Belt's Training, that will be released in Japan on November 22nd as part of the Generations Start Decks. Also revealed are collection of four promo cards that will be released as part of the Generations Start Deck Special Battle Set, releasing on the same day. We can expect to see these cards in English in Scarlet & Violet—Prismatic Evolutions, releasing on January 17th, 2025.

For this video, we got to see the channel's four presenters dressed up as Black Belts (although we only got to see Raichu Umekawa in a picture at 0:42), in conjunction with the reveal of new cards. The video couldn't be complete without music reminiscent of traditional Japanese tunes.

The Black Belt Trainer class has appeared in all generations so far. But each time, there was something distinct about his appearance: either a different headband, gi, pose, hairstyle, or even age, which is exemplified by Alolan Black Belts. The fan-favorite artist GOSSAN drew all of those different designs on the newly revealed collectible cards, in the same vein as Professor's Research.

In addition to the Black Belt's Training Supporter card, four additional promotional cards have also been revealed, each of which represents the generations these Pokémon first appeared in: Meowth, Suicune, Duraludon, and Paldean Wooper.

The Meowth card is a stunningly nostalgic Full Art, even more so emphasized by Uninori's art style, which can make any card look quite old-school! The Paldean Wooper is also a Full Art card, illustrated by OKACHEKE, showing a Pokémon Center in the distance. The Duraludon card is a reprint of the same card from Scarlet & Violet—Stellar Crown. The Suicune is a new card with artwork by another quite recent illustrator, that being Kuroimori. These cards have previously been only teased in product images.
