First details released on the Scarlet & Violet—Stellar Crown special expansion for the Pokémon TCG, launching internationally from September 13th

The next Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion in the Scarlet & Violet Series, Stellar Crown, has been officially announced in a press release by The Pokémon Company International. This expansion, which launches internationally on September 13th, is expected to primarily contain cards from the Japanese Stellar Miracle expansion, which launches there on July 19th.

This set will focuses on Tera Pokémon (with Terapagos as the main featured Pokémon), as well as various characters and settings associated with The Indigo Disk, the second part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC for the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet video games. As the set's name implies, it will feature the debut of Terastallized Pokémon with the Stellar type for the first time in the TCG. Tera Pokémon with the Stellar type have a unique distinction: each of these cards has a TCG type that follows their usual typing, as well as a uniquely powerful attack that requires three different Energy types to power it up. To this end, this set also introduces Trainer cards which ease these Energy requirements, such as letting the player attach an extra Energy card in a turn, or reducing the Energy requirements for attacks used by Tera Pokémon.

Players can expect the set to include the following:
  • Over 170 cards, including more than 20 Trainer cards
  • 3 ACE SPEC Trainer cards
  • 10 Pokémon ex, plus 4 Stellar Tera Pokémon ex
  • More than 30 Pokémon and Trainer cards with special illustrations, including
    • 13 illustration rare Pokémon cards
    • 6 special illustration rare cards featuring rare Pokémon and Supporter cards
    • 3 hyper rare gold etched cards
While a full set list will not be available for some time, the press release and product listings on the Pokémon Center Online Store explicitly confirm cards for:
  • Stellar Pokémon ex cards for Terapagos, Cinderace, Lapras, and Galvantula
  • Hydrapple ex
  • Archaludon, which has its Pokémon TCG international debut in this set
  • Noctowl, which receives a full-art foil promo card in the Elite Trainer Boxes
  • Promotional cards in checklane and three pack blisters for Horsea, Porygon2, Latias, and Tinkaton
Physical pre-release tournaments for this set will begin from August 31st at participating locations worldwide. As usual, Scarlet & Violet—Stellar Crown will be available for players of the Pokémon TCG Live app one day ahead of the physical release, on September 12th. Players should expect this new set to receive a Battle Pass of its own, though the contents of this are of course yet to be announced.

Scarlet & Violet—Stellar Crown will be available across the typical variety of formats, including Booster boxes and Bundles. This box for this set's Elite Trainer Box features Terapagos in its Terastal Form. As usual, these Elite Trainer Boxes will include nine boosters together with the usual assortment of energy cards, card sleeves, and other gameplay accessories, as well as an illustration-rare style promo featuring Noctowl. Special versions of these Elite Trainer Boxes will also be available through Pokémon Center in the US, Canada, the UK, and for the first time Australia and New Zealand. These special versions contain two additional booster packs, and as well as an additional copy of the included illustration-rare style promo card featuring the Pokémon Center logo.
