VIZ announces English release of Pokémon: Scarlet & Violet manga for Spring 2025

VIZ Media has announced that they will begin distributing the Pokémon Adventures Scarlet & Violet arc in English starting Spring 2025. The arc will be released in mini-volumes like the four arcs before it. Having first been published in CoroCoro Ichiban!'s October 2023 issue, the arc's chapters are currently being compiled by Shogakukan in Japan.

Authored by Hidenori Kusaka and illustrated by Mato and Satoshi Yamamoto, Pokémon Adventures is a manga series inspired by the core games. Each arc and its protagonists take their names from the games they are based on, beginning with the Red, Green, and Blue arc to coincide with Pokémon Red, Green, and Blue. Rather than strictly following the plot of the games, Kusaka takes many creative liberties to add depth and personality to the world he portrays.

The Scarlet & Violet arc follows Violet, a self-proclaimed prince, and Scarlet, a professional treasure hunter, as they journey through Paldea. While Violet searches for Herba Mystica, Scarlet works to track down the treasures of ruin. This arc breaks Pokémon Adventures naming traditions, with the female protagonist taking the name of the first in the pair of games, and the male protagonist taking the name of the second.
