Pokémon Masters EX's 6.5 Year Celebration begins, with the Red EX Master Scout, and a 3000 gem gift for Pokémon Day

As announced earlier during the Pokémon Presents presentation for Pokémon Day, a range of scouts, events and bonuses are launching in Pokémon Masters EX to celebrate the game's 6.5 year anniversary. The monthly message from the game's producer has also dropped, providing more detail on the three EX Master Sync Pairs that will be making their debut as part of these anniversary celebrations. The next developer letter is slated for late March, and will include more information regarding new events and sync pairs coming to the game in April.

Update Summary

Misty Arrives at the Trainer Lodge

From February 28th at 10:00 pm (PST), players who have teamed up with Misty & Starmie will be able to invite Misty to the Trainer Lodge. This sync pair is available from the beginning of the main story, so all players should have already long since teamed up with them!

Bug Fixes
Several recent bugs that impacted players over January and February have now been resolved. All players who logged into the game over these periods should receive a total of Gems ×600 in compensation from the combination of these bugs.

UI Reversions
Some minor updates have been made to the game's user interface, restoring the previous methods for exchanging Move Candies and Roll Cakes to what they were prior to the November 2025 update, so that players can now once again obtain these on the General tab of the Exchange Items menu.

Trainer Gym Updates
From February 28th at 10:00 pm (PST), a new season will begin in the Trainer Gym. This season will run through to March 24th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

Log-In Bonuses and Gem Specials to Celebrate Pokémon Day and the 6.5 Year Anniversary

As a special gift for Pokémon Day, all players who log in before March 27th at 5:59am (PDT) will receive a special present of 3,000 gems. To claim this present, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.

Celebration Event: Pokémon Celebration
In this special event, players can earn Gems ×300, 5★ Power-Up ×30, and Champion Spirit ×300 as First-Time rewards for completing a single simple battle.

Pokémon 30-Year Celebration: Special Photo Missions

A set of special missions to encourage players to use the game's photo feature are now available, with additional missions opening up every day over the course of the next week. Completing these missions will grant a variety of different rewards, including gems, a Strike Move Candy Coin, and a Field Roll Cake Coin. All players will also receive a special 30-Year Celebration Title and photo frame as a present simply for logging in prior to March 30th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

Red EX Master Fair

Red debuts his new EX Master Sync Pair with Pikachu in this limited-time set of EX Master Fair Scouts available in-game now, and running through to April 12th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

Red (1996) & Pikachu are an Electric-Type Tech Role Sync Pair. This EX Master Fair-Exclusive Sync Pair make their debut with the ability to be raised to 6★ EX, and the ability to unlock a Support EX Role when raised to 6★ EX. Raising the pair to 6★ EX unlocks a new design for Red, swapping out the classic outfit for one with sepia tones reminiscent of the original Game Boy, and also unlocks a new song for the Jukebox.

EX Master Scouts operate similar to Master Fairs, with an offering rate of 1% for the featured EX Master Sync Pair, 2% for additional featured 5★ Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs, and 12% for other 5★ Sync Pairs, which may include other Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs. Like with normal Master Fair Scouts, EX Master Fair Scouts require 400 scout points before players are able to get a free selection of any one Sync Pair available in the Scout.

The two Fair-Exclusive Sync Pairs who will join Red (1996) & Pikachu in these scouts are Sygna Suit Hau & Tapu Koko and Iono & Bellibolt.

The Presents ×2! Red EX Master Fair includes a daily discount, where players can perform a single scout for ×100 paid gems. This daily discount can be used 1 time per day during the entire length of the scout. The first twelve times players perform a Sync Pair Scout ×11 for this scout, they will also receive the following bonus presents:
  • 1st Scout: Strike Move Candy Coin ×2, Support Move Candy Coin ×2, Tech Move Candy Coin ×2

In addition, players who team up with Red (1996) in this Special Present scout will also receive a Support Roll Cake item, which is required to unlock their EX Role.

Finally, a 1,000 Paid Gems! One-Time-Only Red EX Master Fair will also be available. As the name suggests, this scout offers a special discounted Scout ×11.

Red (1996) Gem Emote
A special Gems with Gym Emotes offer is available from the in-game shop alongside the Red EX Master Scout, allowing players to obtain a Red (1996) Gym Emote as a present. This offer, which comes with 250 paid gems, can be purchased under the With Emotes tab in the Purchase Gems menu of the in-game shop until April 12th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

Red Welcome Gems Special
In conjunction with this latest EX Master Fair, the following Gem Special will be available in the purchase gems tab of the in-game shop until April 12th, at 10:59pm (PDT), offering discounted prices on paid gems. Check in game to find the prices for your region.
  • Red (1996) welcome gem special: Gems ×1,000
Special Event: Rumors of a Strange Red
In this new event, a Trainer who looks very much like Red, yet somehow strangely different, appears to challenge Blue to a battle. Players will take on Blue themselves with a fixed team including this Red, along with Chase and Elaine.

By completing missions for this event, players can earn a Red (1886) Lucky Cookie 1, an Event Medal, and a Tech Move Candy Coin.

Players should note the following when playing this event:
  • To participate, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
  • The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those players can actually obtain.
  • All mission completion rewards must be claimed within three days of the mission period ending.
More Anniversary Celebrations coming soon!
Two more EX Master Sync Pairs debut in a new Story Event
Florian (Anniversary 2026) & Ogerpon and Juliana (Anniversary 2026) & Terapagos will appear together in a new Story Event, Teal and Indigo Festival. Both Sync Pairs will make their debuts in Presents ×2! scouts.

Mission Bingo
A Special Mission Bingo will also begin tomorrow, running for three weeks. Completing each week long part of this event will let players team up with the Master Sync Pairs Blue (Champion) & Zapdos, Leaf (Champion) & Moltres, and Red (Champion) & Articuno. These missions will also grant items required to raise these Sync Pairs to 6★ EX status.

Increased Log-in Bonus
For the month of March, the monthly Log-in Bonus will grant players double the usual amount of rewards.

Extreme Battle Event
A new Extreme Battle Event where players will challenge Red (1996) will be available during these Anniversary Celebrations

Pokémon 30-Year Celebration Paid-Gem Scout ×30 Select Master Fair
In this upcoming scout, players will be able to get a whopping 30 Sync Pairs for 10,000 Paid Gems, along with the ability to select one Master Sync Pair to partner up with.
