New Pokémon Day merchandise coming to Pokémon Centers in Japan, including special 30th anniversary edition Pikachu plushes
The retro-style merch drop, called “Timeless Adventure,” will include mostly stationery, including a notebook from Italian stationery brand Moleskin, which retails for ¥4,950 ($32.72 USD). Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charmander, and Pikachu will also feature on a file folder for ¥495 ($3.17 USD), an acrylic decor block for ¥2,860 ($18.33 USD), and an acrylic keychain for ¥935 ($5.99 USD). A set of stickers will be available for ¥770 ($4.93 USD), and a souvenir set of rolled cookies will be ¥1,760 ($11.28 USD). Timeless Adventure will arrive at Pokémon Centers in Japan on March 14th, and to the Pokémon Center Online on March 12th.
Pikachu’s retro look comes from its appearance in the original Pokémon Red and Blue. The new plush sports the green/grayscale of the original Game Boy and pixelated facial features. The full plush will retail for ¥3,300 ($21.15 USD), and the flatter keychain version will retail for ¥880 ($5.64 USD). Both will arrive at Pokémon Centers in Japan and to the Pokémon Center Online on February 28th.
The special 30th anniversary Pikachu also comes in regular plush and plush keychain form. Both feature a glittery ribbon and come holding a golden Poké Ball with an embroidered “30th.” The plush will be available for ¥3,300 ($21.15 USD), and the smaller, but otherwise identical keychain will be ¥1,870 ($11.98 USD). These plushes will arrive at Pokémon Centers in Japan on March 14th, and to the Pokémon Center Online on March 12th.
None of these items are expected to become available via Amazon Japan.
Stay tuned, as even more merch for Pokémon’s 30th anniversary is expected to debut tomorrow, February 27th.
