Larry & Dudunsparce make their Pokémon Masters EX debut alongside the Middle-Aged Opposites Story Event — Kabu & Centiskorch to arrive this weekend

Larry from Paldea's Elite Four is making their Pokémon Masters EX debut with their sync partner Dudunsparce today in a new Poké Fair Scout, which launches alongside the Middle-Aged Opposites. The game's title screen and app logo have also received Larry-themed makeovers.

Story Event: Middle-Aged Opposites
In this new story event, a group of older veteran trainers, including Larry and Kabu, are recruited by Lear to assist in teaching the next generation of trainers in Pasio. This event is available in-game now, and will continue until July 2nd, at 10:59pm (PDT).

By completing battles during this event, players can earn Event Voucher J items, which can be exchanged for a variety of valuable items, including a 5★ Scout Tickets, a Sprint Move Candy Coin, Special Skill Feathers 35 and 36, Lucky Cookies for Larry & Dudunsparce, Kabu & Centiskorch, and Pryce & Seel/Dewgong, Skill Items, and custom Sync Orbs for Larry & Dudunsparce and Kabu & Centiskorch. Players can also take on event missions to earn Event Medals, as well as additional Gems, Battle Points, and Sprint and Support Move Candy Coins.

As usual for events of this type, players will have an increased chance of receiving bonus rewards if they take on event battles using teams that feature specific sync pairs. The more of these sync pairs that players place in their lineup, the greater the bonus received. The applicable Sync Pairs and reward rates are as follows:
These bonuses stack additively, so having a team consisting of Larry & Dudunsparce, Rika & Clodsire, and Geeta & Glimmora would grant a combined +120% (×2.2) rewards.

Players should also note the following when playing this event:
  • The number of plays available for Daily Extreme Battle 1 are reset every day at 11:00pm (PDT).
  • To participate, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.
  • The sync pairs that appear as opponents in battle have different capabilities than those players can actually obtain.
  • All mission completion rewards must be claimed within three days of the mission period ending.
  • Leftover Event Voucher J items will be automatically converted to coins at a rate of 10 coins per item at the end of the event, and sent to players' Present Boxes

Larry & Dudunsparce Poké Fair Scout

Larry & Dudunsparce make their Pokémon Masters debut in this limited-time Poké Fair Scout alongside the launch of the Middle-Aged Opposites Story Event. This scout is available in-game now, and will run through to July 10th at 10:59pm (PDT). As normal for Poké Fair Scouts, 5★ sync pairs have a 10% chance of appearing in this scout. This Poké Fair Scout also includes a daily discount, where players can perform a single scout for ×100 paid gems. This daily discount can be used 1 time per day during the entire length of the scout.

Players will also receive 4× Tech Roll Cake Coin and 4× 5★ Power-Ups each time they pair up with Larry & Dudunsparce through this scout, up to a maximum of 5 times.

This Fair-Exclusive Normal-type Sprint Role Sync Pair are being released with an expanded sync grid, the ability to be raised to 6★ EX, and the ability to unlock a Sprint EX Role when raised to 6★ EX. Raising the pair to 6★ EX also unlocks a new green suit and shirt with yellow tie for Larry, inspired by Dudunsparce, as well as a new song in the Jukebox.

Larry & Dudunsparce are specialized around getting a series of highly damaging attacks out in a short period of time. Their Working Man’s Methods Passive Skill immediately raises their Attack by 4 stat ranks when it enters a battle, and allows it to ignore a variety of passive skills and the Enduring effect on opponents that would otherwise reduce damage, while their Rebuff Reducing Hit (Weakness) Passive Skill lowers the Type Rebuff of an opponent's weakness type by 1 rank the first time Larry & Dudunsparce's attack move against them is successful. To help get their attacks out quick, their Plain and Simple Status Move applies the Move Gauge Acceleration effect to the allied field of play, amongst other bonuses, while their Bullet Speed Hyper Drill move is a free attack which applies the Free Move Next effect to Larry & Dudunsparce while also debuffing their target further.
