As announced earlier during the Pokémon Presents presentation for Pokémon Day, a range of scouts, events and bonuses are launching in Pokémon Masters EX to celebrate the game's 3.5 year anniversary. The monthly message from the game's producers has also dropped, providing more detail on the recent app update which added redecorating features to the Trainer Lodge, as well as information on the three Master Sync Pairs that will be making their debut as part of the anniversary celebrations. The next developer letter is slated for late March, and will include more information regarding new events and sync pairs coming to the game in April.

As a special gift for Pokémon Day, all players who log in before March 27th at 5:59pm (PDT) will receive a special present of 3,000 gems. To claim this present, players must have completed Main Story Chapter 1: The More the Merrier (Normal) in single-player.

Neo Champions: Fight for the Future Together

This event follows Hop, Marnie, and Bede as they form a team together with their partners, the Galarian Forms of Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno respectively, to compete in a tournament to challenge Galar's ultimate team of Leon, Gloria and Victor in a match to decide the new Neo Champion. This event is available in-game now, and will continue until March 24th, at 9:59pm (PDT). By completing battles during this event, players can earn Event Voucher Y items, which can be exchanged for a variety of valuable items, including 5★ Power-Ups, 5★ Scout Tickets, and a Strike Move Candy Coin. Players can also take on event missions to earn Event Medals, as well as additional Gems, Battle Points, and other rewards.

As usual for events of this type, players will have an increased chance of receiving bonus rewards if they take on event battles using teams that feature specific sync pairs. The more of these sync pairs that players place in their lineup, the greater the bonus received. The applicable Sync Pairs and reward rates are as follows:
These bonuses stack additively, so having a team consisting of Marnie (Champion) & Moltres, Leon & Charizard, and the Main Character & Pikachu, would grant a combined +120% (x2.2) rewards.

This event includes a log-in bonus over 14 days. Players can receive these bonuses up until March 24 at 9:59pm (PDT), so even if you're a couple of days late starting the event you'll still have the chance to receive all of the available gifts.

Anniversary Master Sync Pairs and Scouts

Three brand new Master Fair-exclusive Sync Pairs, all of whom play a starring role in the Neo Champions: Fight for the Future Together event, will be making their debuts during the 3.5 Year Anniversary in individual Master Fair Scouts.

Marnie (Champion) & Moltres are a Dark-type strike Sync Pair with powerful attacks able to hit all opponents. Between their passive skill Sinister Aura and their Triumphant Spirit! Trainer Move, this pair can easily give a significant boost to their own critical-hit rate and Sp. Atk stat, allowing them to rapidly start dealing out massive damage to opponents. Triumphant Spirit!'s recoil damage also combos with their Mind over Matter 4 passive skill, increasing their Sp. Atk a further 40% while they have any injuries. Their B Fiery Wrath Buddy Move, which is activated after every time your team uses a sync move, has the additional effect of ignoring opponents passive skills to reduce damage or protect against critical hits, as well as bypassing the Enduring effect, making them a strong attacker against opponents buffing themselves against you. If that wasn't already enough, the pair's Spikemuth Gift passive skill automatically restores the pair's HP by 40% and increases the pair's Special Moves ↑ Next effect by 3 ranks the first time they drop below half in a battle, making them both a devestating and tanky attacker.

Marnie's Master Fair scout is available right now, and will run through to April 8th at 9:59pm (PDT). As usual for Master Fair scouts, 5★ Sync Pairs will have a 12% chance of appearing, with the featured pair having a higher chance of appearing than other pairs. In conjunction with this scout, Marnie has been released with an expanded Sync Grid, as well as the ability to be raised to 6★ EX status, which flips the palette of her outfit. Players who team up with Marnie (Champion) & Moltres will also be able to obtain a special Friend Snapshot that can be viewed in the Trainer Lodge.

The Marnie Master Fair Scout includes a daily discount, where players can perform a single scout for x100 paid gems. This daily discount can be used 1 time per day during the entire length of the scout. Additionally, the first five times players perform a Sync Pair Scout x11 for this scout, they will also receive the following bonus presents:

  • 1st Scout: Strike Move Candy Coin x1
  • 2nd Scout: 5★ Power-Up x2
  • 3rd Scout: Strike Move Candy Coin x1, Tech Move Candy Coin x1
  • 4th Scout: 5★ Power-Up x4
  • 5th Scout: Strike Move Candy Coin x1, Tech Move Candy Coin x1, Support Move Candy Coin x1
MastersEX_Hop_Zapdos.png
Hop (Champion) & Zapdos are a Fighting-type tech Sync Pair with a balanced approach between buffing themselves and debuffing opponents. Their Thunderous Kick and B Thunderous Kick attacks combo together with their Postwick Perserverance passive skill to allow them to lower opponents Defense and Sp. Def by 1 and 3 ranks respectively each time they attack. Their Triumphant Research! Trainer Move similarly combos with their Down for a Freebie 9 passive skill, applying a Free Move Next effect to the pair in exchange for a 1 stat rank reduction of Sp. Def, alongside a 3 stat rank boost to Speed and turning the field of play's zone into a Fighting Zone. Together with their Lightning Legs passive, which increases their Attack by 6 stat ranks when they enter battle, this pair can start doing brutally high damage quickly, despite their Thunderous Kick normally requiring a full 4 slots of the move gauge. Like with Marnie (Champion) & Moltres, the pair's buddy move, which can be used once every time the player's team's Sync Move countdown is reduced by 6, also ignores pponents passive skills to reduce damage or protect against critical hits, as well as bypassing the Enduring effect.

Hop (Champion) & Zapdos's Master Fair Scout will begin from March 1st at 10:00pm (PST), and continue until April 8th, at 9:59pm (PDT)

MastersEX_Bede_Articuno.png
Bede (Champion) & Articuno are a Psychic-type support Sync Pair, with a selection of Trainer and Buddy Moves that can continuously buff their team throughout battle. Their Ballonlea Teachings passive skill restores 1 MP to their moves each time the player's team uses a Sync Move, allowing them to use B Freezing Glare to repeatedly apply defensive stat buffs and the Free Move Next effect to their team, and Triumphant Tenacity to apply offensive stat buffs and the Physical Moves ↑ Next and Special Moves ↑ Next effects, making them a solid and dependable buffer no matter the team's focus.

Bede (Champion) & Articuno's Master Fair Scout will begin from March 3rd at 10:00pm (PST), and continue until April 8th, at 9:59pm (PDT).

Gloria arrives at the Trainer's Lodge
As previously announced, players who've been able to team up with Gloria & Zacian will now be able to invite Gloria as a guest to the Trainer Lodge. Gloria will be featured in March's upcoming Monthly Poké Fair Scout Vol 7., which should launch in game tomorrow. Alongside this Monthly Poké Fair, Gloria & Zacian will also be receiving Fair-Exclusive Sync Pair tiles.

Pokémon Center Refresh
As previously announced in January's monthly letter, the Pokémon Center that serves as the game's main lobby has received a refresh and revamp, with a new bulletin board installed behind the central counter. Players are now able to tap the board to see detailed information on current in-game events, as well as jump directly to the event.
