Ash's Pikachu and four Legendary Pokémon to be distributed for Pokémon Sword and Shield in Japan as part of 25 years of Pokémon Film Festival

The Pokémon Company has announced a series of distribution gifts that movie-goers can receive when they watch the re-airing of previous Pokémon movies: Pokémon Heroes: Latios and Latias, Jirachi: Wish Maker and The Rise of Darkrai in Japanese theaters that are taking place as part of the Summer Memories GET! 25 years of Pokémon Film Festival (夏の思い出、ゲットだぜ！25周年ポケモン映画祭). Codes to redeem Pokémon in-game will only be available while stock lasts, and can be claimed in Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield until September 30th this year.

While stocks last, all movie-goers for this festival will receive a code for Ash's Pikachu, wearing the same cap Ash has in Pokémon Journeys: The Series. Stocks will be replenished with the start of each movie's run in the festival. This Pikachu has the following stats:



All movie-goers will also receive a special Pikachu tag for the Pokémon MEZASTAR arcade game. As with the Pikachu code distribution, these tags will only be available while stocks last, though stocks will be replenished for the start of each movie's run in the festival. This Pikachu tag functions identically to, and is recognised by the game as, the 1-010 Pikachu from the first Mezastar tag set. As such, this tag will be recognised in-game as a ★6 tag rather than a special tag, and players will not be able to use the two tags together while playing. Using this tag will also add an entry for 1-010 Pikachu in the 1-dan Mezasuta Dex in the Mezasta Club, if the player does not already have it.

Pokémon Heroes: Latios and Latias
The fifth Pokémon movie will be screened as part of this film festival between August 11th and August 18th, and again from September 2nd to September 8th. In addition to the gifts given to all movie-goers, those seeing this movie will also receive a code to redeem Latias in Sword or Shield.

Jirachi: Wish Maker
The sixth Pokémon movie will be screened as part of this film festival between August 19th and August 25th, and again from September 2nd to September 8th. In addition to the gifts given to all movie-goers, those seeing this movie will also receive a code to redeem Jirachi in Sword or Shield.

The Rise of Darkrai
The 10th Pokémon movie will be screened as part of this film festival between August 26th and September 1st, and again from September 2nd to September 8th. In addition to the gifts given to all movie-goers, those seeing this movie will also receive either a code to redeem Dialga in Shield, or a code to redeem Palkia in Sword. Movie-goers will need to see the movie twice to receive both codes.
