Pokémon GO Community Day Classic announced; Bulbasaur will feature in the first event on January 22nd

As the Season of Heritage continues, Niantic are offering players an opportunity to return to Pokémon's roots with the introduction of a new kind of Community Day in Pokémon GO, the Community Day Classic events. The first of these event will run on on January 22nd, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, and feature none other than the Seed Pokémon Bulbasaur.

During the event period, Bulbasaur will be appearing more frequently in the wild, and its Shiny variant will also be available for Trainers to encounter. Ivysaur that are evolved to Venusaur during the event or within two hours of the event concluding will know the Charged Attack Frenzy Plant, which has 100 power in both Trainer Battles, and in Gyms and Raids. Trainers taking snapshots in-game during Community Day will also receive an unspecified special surprise.

The following bonuses will be active during the event:
  • 3× Catch XP
  • Incense activated during the event will last for three hours
  • Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours
A special one-time-purchase Community Day Box will be available for 1,280 PokéCoins, containing 50 Ultra Balls, five Lucky Eggs, five Star Pieces, and an Elite Charged TM. Players can also purchase a Bulbasaur Community Day Classic–exclusive Special Research story, Bulbasaur Community Day Classic, for USD$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in their local currency). Additionally, all Trainers will be able to obtain 30 Ultra Balls in the shop at no cost.
