The official Pokémon TCG Twitter account has announced that the Pokémon Trading Card Game Live app, which was due to have a mobile soft launch in Canada, and global open beta for desktop later this year, has been pushed back to 2022 to provide a more polished experience.

Code cards with the Pokémon TCG Live branding have already been distributed in some Pokémon TCG products. Despite the branding, these code cards are still redeemable in Pokémon TCG Online, however players might want to hold on to them anyway to avoid any potential issues with transferring over their collections.

Pokémon Trading Card Game Live (TCGL) is a new app that will allow Trainers to enjoy the Pokémon Trading Card Game in an updated digital format. It will be a free-to-play game, and marks the first time that the Pokémon TCG will be playable on smartphones, in addition to tablets, PCs, and Macs. Pokémon Trading Card Game Live is a replacement to the current Pokémon Trading Card Game Online (TCGO).
