Mint Condition Pokémon TCG Base Set Sells for $666K USD

The Pokémon Trading Card Game has reached another price record, the third in only a handful of months, with a complete collection of the original Base Set selling for $666,000 United States Dollars on Goldin Auctions. The set had been professionally graded, and awarded a "PSA GEM-MT 10", or "virtually perfect", condition.

The included GEM-MT 10 Charizard card is likely responsible for most of the price, given its extreme popularity and iconic status. Rapper Logic dropped $226,000 USD for a copy of his own back in October 2020, while Goldin Auctions sold a Charizard card in December 2020 for almost $400,000 USD.
